In a thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Kunlavut Vitidsarn has defeated current world champion Victor Axelsen and claimed his first Super 750 crown. Vitidsarn, who had lost all six of their previous meetings, including last year’s World Championship final, made a strong start using the Yonex Astrox 88 D Pro racket, taking an early 7-4 lead. An epic 66-shot rally ended with the Thai player missing the sideline, but he still managed to take an 11-10 advantage into the first break.
Axelsen, who used the Yonex Astrox 100ZZ racket, made a comeback, leveling at 16-16, but Vitidsarn managed to save his first game point with a fortunate net cord and went on to take the first game.
