The final of the men’s singles at the THAILAND MASTERS 2023 was a battle to remember as Lin Chun-yi defeated Ng Ka Long Angus in two straight sets, 21-17 and 21-14. The match was held at the Nimibutr Arena on Sunday, 5th February 2023.
The competition was intense from the start, with both players giving it their all. The first game saw Lin and Ng tied 2-2, but Ng demonstrated his skill and took a 10-5 lead. Despite Lin’s efforts to catch up, he trailed at the first interval 7-11. However, Lin never gave up and managed to turn the game around, leading 18-15.
Entering a critical point, Ng tried to regain his lead but made a crucial mistake that Lin capitalized on, securing the first game 21-17. In the second game, Lin started strong and took an early 4-1 lead. Ng fought back and evened the score 4-4. The game continued with both players scoring points, but Lin managed to edge ahead 11-10 at the second interval. Lin then dominated the game, barely giving Ng any space, and went on to become the champion within 37 minutes with a final score of 21-14.
Zhang Yi Man Wins Big at the 2023 Thailand Masters!
The Chinese women’s singles player dominated the BWF Super 300 event, coming out on top as the champion at the Thailand Masters 2023. Despite falling behind in the first game against compatriot Han Yue, Zhang didn’t give up and came back with a vengeance, winning the second game 21-13 and the third game 21-18.
This victory marked Zhang’s first BWF World Tour title of the season and her first Super 300 level title, after previously finishing as runner-up twice at the 2018 New Zealand Open and the 2022 Hylo Open.
