The super 300 series of the 2023 BWF World Tour is initiated with the latest badminton tournament in Thailand, which begins on Tuesday, January 31st and will run until Sunday, February 5th. The Thailand Masters 2023 will feature singles and doubles tournaments for both men’s and women’s disciplines and will be held in Bangkok with a prize pool of $210,000.
Despite several top seeds withdrawing from the tournament, Lee Cheuk Yiu from Hong Kong is the top seed for the men’s singles, while Han Yue from China is leading the women’s singles. The tournament will not be available for television broadcast, but fans can live stream the event on BWF TV’s YouTube channel. The event will be held at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, which has a capacity of over 5,600 seats.
LA28 confirms Para badminton
In other news, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has approved 22 sports for inclusion in the upcoming LA28 Paralympic Games, which followed an extensive application and review process carried out by the International Federation. Para badminton is one of the sports that has been officially included in the list.
